Interested in entering Brandathon? Make sure you meet the following criteria.
- • Must have under 25 full time employees
- • Must have under $5MM in funding
- • Must be past prototype phase (ready to launch or already in market)
- • There is no cap on revenue or profits
- • Startups can be pre-revenue
- • Must be based in the New England region
- • If you are chosen for a re-brand, a representative from your startup is required to attend the Match Event in Boston on August 4
Startups that entered Brandathon in previous years are welcome to enter again, as long as they were not matched with an agency and did not receive a re-brand.
Any startup found paying for votes, or having bots artificially generate votes for them, will be disqualified and unable to receive a re-brand.
What do I need to enter?A short video that pitches your startup. We strongly recommend keeping it 60-seconds long. Tell us about what your startup does and the problem it solves. You can show us what your current branding looks like, or tell us why you need the agency’s help. Remember, this video should make the public want to vote for you, but also make the agency want to re-brand you!
Okay, I submitted my startup. Now what?
On June 27, all startups videos will be posted to this site and voting will begin. The public will be invited to watch your videos and vote for their favorites. On July 28 voting will close, and the top 25 startups with the most votes will be eligible to receive a re-brand.
How do those top-voted startups end up getting matched with an agency?
The agencies will review the top-25 entries and choose the startups that they feel they can best re-brand. On August 4 at a private Match Event, we will announce the agency-startup pairings.
Where does the 72-Hour countdown come in?
These agencies represent the best creative minds in New England, so we knew they needed to be challenged. Once they meet with their startup on August 4, the clock starts, and they will have just 72 hours to give birth to a brand. Before the clock strikes 0, all brand materials and presentations will be handed in to us.
When are the re-brands revealed?
The agency teams will present their work on August 18 at a Live Pitch Event at the Revere Hotel. With hundreds of eyes on them, they’ll have just a few minutes to sell their pitch to the panel of judges. The agencies are competing for cash prizes and bragging rights, but win or lose, the startups receive all rights to the new branding.
